After playing a show June 1 in the U.K. the band turns its attention to the Warped Tour. The festival starts June 15 in Columbia, Maryland and features A.F.I., Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, Motion City Soundtrack, and Rise Against, among others. |
The last time Thursday was on the tour was in 2004, and singer Geoff Rickly and drummer Tucker Rule talk about returning to the festival. |
[Tucker] “I like the camaraderie. I can’t stand the heat and that stuff, but you know what? I’m a musician, I’m a kid, I can deal with being dirty. It doesn’t bother me. Like I said, I really love seeing the other bands as well. I’m a fan of music as well. I like watching other bands. If I’m scrolling through the television with the clicker. If there’s a live band playing on television, I’m going to watch it. I don’t care if it’s…” [Geoff] “…even a band that we don’t like. It’s better even checking out what somebody’s doing, even if you don’t like ’em. Music is so amazing.” [Tucker] “Seeing a bunch of live bands and bands that are friends and bands that we like is amazing.” [Geoff] “There’s a ton on this Warped too. There’s like Against Me, Buzzcocks, Rise Against, AFI, Joan Jett, Everytime I Die, a huge list of good bands. It’s going to be fun this year.” |
Thursday is on tour in support of their new album, A City By The Light Divided, and their single, “Counting 5-4-3-2-1.” |
