THRICE EXPLORING NEW ENERGY ON BEGGARS
Thrice have finished recording their next album, “Beggars” and the band talk about the new energy they are exploring. |
Thrice have finished recording their highly anticipated upcoming album, which is titled “Beggars” and will be the bands follow up to 2007’s “The Alchemy Index Vol 1 and Vol 2” and 2008’s “The Alchemy Index Vol 3 and 4.” Both versions of “The Alchemy Index” peaked at #1 on The Independent Chart and #24 and #17 on The Billboard Top 200 Chart. For “Beggars” Thrice recorded the album in the newly built home studio of guitarist Teppei Teranishi and one of the main goals was to record the album with a new high energy. |
Artisan News caught up with Thrice to get their thoughts on exploring a new energy on “Beggars.” |
“Every time we put a record out it’s hard to describe what it is and how it relatest to the past records. This one has a new kind of energy to it that I don’t think we’ve explored as much in the past. There’s kind of a groove and a different rhythm to it so even the slower songs have a push to them. It’s really fun to play. It was born out of us just jamming on these ideas and the last project, the four disc “The Alchemy Index” was a lot more cerebral and just laying things out and having this big idea for it and this was a lot more about what felt good to play with the ideas that we had laying around, so.” |
Thrice kicked off the first 8 days of The Warped Tour’s 15th Anniversary performing until July 5th in Dallas, Tx. After taking the rest of July and early August off, Thrice will rejoin The Warped Tour August 19th in Fresno, Ca and closing it down August 23rd at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Ca. Look for Thrice to announce a headlining tour around the time “Beggars” will be released, which the band plans for mid October. |
