THREE 6 MAFIA MAKES IMPRESSIVE CHART DEBUT
Three 6 Mafia made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week when the group’s latest album, Most Known UnKnown, entered the chart at Number Three after selling more than 115,000 copies its first week in stores. The album features guest appearances by Lil’ Flip, Slim Thug, Trick Daddy, Mr. Bigg, Remy Ma, Project Pat, Frayser Boy, Young Buck, Eightball & MJG, and Lil’ Wyte. |
While Three 6 Mafia may be riding high these days as crunk music is universally recognized around the country, there was time when the very same brand of music got the group banned. The group was banned from a Miami nightclub after their 1997 hit, “Tear Da Club Up,” caused a riot to break out. |
“The club just changed. They was like we could never come back there no more and we ain’t been back there since. It was just crazy. They never undertsand why the song would make people go so crazy.” |
