THIRD’S A CHARM FOR OLIVER STONE
Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center came in third at the box office this weekend taking in $26.8 million since opening Wednesday. Despite the hesitancy from movie goers to see a film about 9/11 so close to the 5th anniversary, and the recent headlines about further terror in the skies, the stars of the film offer these kind words about their director. Nicolas Cage who plays Sergeant John McCoughlin says Stone has earned his respect by having had his own experiences in combat. |
Talladega Nights came in first for the second weekend in a row with a total of 92 million.rn |
“There’s really no other director that I can think of that’s actually walked the walk and talked the talk. Because he has he comes at it with a different weight. And he gets a lot of respect even from the cops because it’s a very fine line from being a soldier in Vietnam and being a cop in the World Trade Center. Both are incredibly testing, challenging, deep experiences where you figure out who you are. So many of us go through life not really knowing what we would do in that situation. John McLoughlin knows it and so did Oliver Stone.” |
