THE SUBWAYS YOUNG FOR ETERNITY
The Subways, UK’s smash indie pop garage rockers are growing with each recording experience and gaining confidence as musicians as well. The band, which consists of Josh Morgan and fiances Billy Lunn and Charlotte Cooper, originally began recording demos on an eight track home studio and it was with these demos that the band won a contest for unsigned bands winning the opportunity to play the legendary Glastonbury Festival. |
Already with multiple hit singles of their debut album ‘Young for Eternity’ we caught up with Charlotte and Josh to talk about gaining confidence as musicians with each recording experience and working with producer Ian Brodie. |
“It was our first album and we were really just three kids. It was a daunting experience and I think it was a lot of fun, but it was also quite difficult and intense. I think we learned a lot from doing it and it’s made us more confident as musicians and as a band in total and working with Ian Brodie. Who has had such a great career as a producer and as a musician himself, it was a great experience working with him.” |
The Subways have been nominated for an International Woodie Award for Favorite International Artist at this years MTVu awards. The Subways were recently on a break from touring as Billy Lunn recovered from a vocal problem. Lunn is expected to make a full recovery and the band will once again be touring in 2007. Look for the band to get back into the studio to start the follow up to ‘Young for Eternity’ sometime in the near future as well. |
