The Roots are hosting a two-night party event showcasing new material from their upcoming album, “Game Theory.” This will be the group’s first album on their new label Def Jam Recordings. The party will be held at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on May 18 and 19. |
“Our fans should pretty much know that our New York shows are the most special shows, simply because we have been known to pull some amazing rabbits out of our hat,” said The Roots’ drummer, Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson. “Every show we’ve ever thrown in this city was a footnote and an exercise in surprise. Joining The Roots on May 18 will be label mate Nas, Common and Talib Kweli. While Erykah Badu, Mos Def, J. Davey, and Angelique Kidjo are scheduled to join the group on the second night. |
Tickets are available for purchase Friday, March 24th at all Ticketmaster locations. Proceeds from the tickets sales will be donated to the family of late hip-hop producer Jay Dee (J. Dilla). |
