THE LAST KISS DIRECTOR TOOK ADVICE FROM ZACH BRAFF
(VIDEO) The Last Kiss director Tony Goldwyn took musical and direction ideas from star Zach Braff. |
What do you do when the star of your movie is an accomplished director and award winning musical aficionado? You do what any director would do, steal their shots and pick their musical brain which is what Tony Goldwyn did with his Garden State director and star Zach Braff in The Last Kiss. |
Some of the music on the soundtrack is a mix of alternative and pop bands such as Athlete, Snow Patrol, Cold Play, Aimee Mann and Joshua Radin who sings the track Paperweight in the film. Goldwyn’s other directing credits include several episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and the upcoming Showtime series Dexter. He talks about the difference between directing for film and television. |
“Zach is super bright and I solicited everything from him. He was really respectful. He had one brilliant idea for a shot which I used and it’s in the movie. And it’s my favorite shot. Where Zach really helped me out is in the music. We have an amazing soundtrack and Zach really turned me onto so much great music because he’s really talented at that.” |
The Last Kiss opens today in theaters nationwide. |
“Directing a movie is like a huge full meal. You work on it for a couple of years and directing television is like boot camp; it’s a great work out. You go in and you have three weeks basically you’re in and out, always different styles you’re working with different people so it’s like really good training I find.” |
