THE LAST GOODNIGHT HOPES FOR KELLEY-HEIGL BEAUTIFUL ROMANCE

The Last Goodnight recently wrapped up filming for thier new video, “Stay Beautiful” in New York, and they hope to have Josh Kelley’s luck.

The Last Goodnight recently wrapped up shooting their new video “Stay Beautiful,” and the clip for the song centers around a sweet and sexy neighbor. The song follows in the footsteps of the popular “Pictures Of You,” which has connected on the Hot AC, AC, and pop radio charts.

We caught up with Kurtis John and Anton Yurack of The Last Goodnight and asked them if there’s any pressure to follow the success of “Pictures Of You.”

“[Kurtis] “Yeah, there’s always a pressure, but it’s a good pressure. It’s positive. We love it. We can’t wait for this, man. We’ve been so excited for this video and for this song and it’s like you work so hard and so long in a studio recording on your songs that when you get to really bring them to life with film we hope it does well. We always want to outdo our last. We definitely want to make ‘Stay Beautiful’ bigger than ‘Pictures (of You)’.” [Anton] I think it has a different vibe to it. This story line is completely opposite from ‘Pictures (of You)’ and I think this is a little bit more fun with things we do in the video. It’s a lot more loose, a little more happy, a little more upbeat.”

We also asked the duo about working with Jay Martin, who has worked with Kid Rock, Dashboard Confessional and Plain White T’s (‘Hey There Delilah’) for the “Stay Beautiful” video.

[Kurtis] “He got the total vibe, the lyrics, the way we wanted to capture the girl and just make her a universal figure. She comes from a small town, she moves to the big city. She lives below us, which is horrible for her because we like to party, we like to rehearse, she can’t sleep. And it’s just this really cool simple story line that really captured the song. Once we read Jay’s treatment man it was all over. He was gonna kill it.” [Anton] “We were like, ‘That’s it.’ As soon as he had read it to me, and he went, ‘Well what do you think of this?,’ I instantly fell in love with it. It fit the song, it fit the attitude, it fit the vibe of what the song was about and what it is. We were excited.”

With Josh Kelley marrying Katherine Heigl, the girl in his “Only You” video, we asked The Last Goodnight at the set if there could be a potential romance struck with the “Stay Beautiful Girl.”

Both “Pictures Of You” and “Stay Beautiful” are found on The Last Goodnight’s latest album, Poison Kiss. The former has been featured on MTV’s The Hills and currently holds the Number 9 spot on the Radio & Records Hot AC radio chart.
