THE HOLIDAY STARS PONDER HOUSE SWAPPING
(VIDEO) The Holiday stars talk about apartment swapping at the New York film premiere. |
The stars of The Holiday were feeling the Christmas spirit at the film’s New York premiere. Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz take a holiday from the neighborhood when they meet from opposite ends of the globe on line and decide to swap apartments over Christmas to escape the men in their lives. When Diaz takes on Kate’s apartment in England she meets the dashing Jude Law and romance ensues. Jude says why his apartment would be off limits but he likes to stay with friends. |
British born Kate Winslet who also makes her home in New York says she wouldn’t mind a change of address now and again if she wasn’t so famous. |
“You could look through my cupboards and get on the internet and tell everyone what I’ve got. The funny thing of course when I was finishing this film in L. A. I was living in someone’s else’s house so there you go. It was a beautiful house but the question is whether I want to swap no I don’t know if I like anyone else in my house to be honest I’m a little too private.” |
Rufus Sewell stars as Diaz’s cheating boyfriend in the film. Rufus who most recently starred in Tom Stoppard’s play Rock n’ Roll on London’s West End says he learned a thing or two about rock stars house crashing. |
“Probably if I wasn’t in the public eye yes I actually would. I think it’s a great way to have a vacation. It’s cheap cost effective and yeah you arrive at someone’s house and there’s already food in the fridge. I mean what could be better than that?” |
The Holiday also starring Jack Black and Edward Burns opens Friday in theaters. |
“I know certain pop stars that do that I’m going to be staying at your house for a couple of weeks could you paint this room mauve. I’ve never done that and I don’t have any furnishing requirements either if I fall asleep on someone’s sofa.” |
