The Hives have just released their new DVD, Tussels In Brussels, and it features the highlights of the band through their first three records, two through U.S. label Interscope Records. The band is trying to recover from the comercially disappointing album, Tyrannosaurus Hives, after they captured the world’s imaginatin with Veni Vidi Vicious earlier in the decade. |
The Hives’ singer/songwriter Pelle Almqvist told us that he’s looking forward to getting a new record out in 2006, and they’re about halfway done with the record. |
“We just started with the new record. Hopefully, it’s coming out next year, and so far it’s really, really great, but it’s also too short to put out. We’ve got to finish it. We have tons of ideas kicking around, but I don’t think we’ll be able to fit them all on the record and for it to make sense. So, we’ll see what happens.” |
The Hives are enjoying some time off to spend holidays with friends and finish their album. The band’s Tussels In Brussels comes with a mini-movie that’s hosted by E-Street Band and Sopranos cast member Little Steven. The rock and roll enthusiast was turned onto the Hives by Bruce Springsteen after The Boss saw them perform on TV. |
