THE FRAY HAS GRANNY CALL GRAMMY
The Fray were nominated for two Grammy awards at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, and even though the band didn’t actually win either award, it was incredible for the band just to be nominated, considering how far the band has come in such a short period of time. The Fray were nominated for their song “How To Save A Life” in the “Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal” pop category and was beaten out by the Black Eyed Peas. Their song “Over My Head (Cable Car)” was nominated in the “Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal” rock category and was beaten out by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. |
We caught up with Issac Slade, keyboardist and lead vocalist for The Fray to talk about being part of The Grammys and having Grandma upset because both The Fray’s awards were held during the Pre Telecast and not televised on national TV. |
“I know there’s a lot of people watching and found out our award wasn’t televised and my Grandma’s all pissed off she’s like ‘You tell that them. You go tell that Grammy guy that I want my Grandson on television if he wins. I don’t know if the Grammy guy is watching but Grandma’s upset.” |
It was recently announced that The Fray’s album ‘How To Save A Life’ has gone double platinum. Although the band didn’t recieve a Grammy Award they did sweep the 2006 Billboard Awards garnering 3 awards in the digital category for Digital Album of the Year, Digital Song of the Year and Digital Artists of the Year. |
