(VIDEO) Philip Seymour Hoffman plays an evil arms dealer in MI3 who is out for revenge.

Philip Seymour Hoffman is deliciously evil in Mission Impossible 3 as an arms dealer hell bent on wreaking havoc until Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt foils all his plans. Hoffman says he’s a villain out to seek revenge.

That price involves Hoffman kidnapping Cruise’s fiancée Michelle Monaghan who quickly finds out what her boyfriend has been up to on his business trips. All Hoffman wants is to break up the happy couple.

“How far is this villain pushed and when he’s pushed that far what does he ultimately do in revenge? That’s what you see in this film is that this villain is pushed to a certain place by the hero and because of that the hero pays a huge price.”

Romance and intrigue might be the backdrop of Mission Impossible 3 but Hoffman promises the film delivers much more.

“I do think you’re gonna see this evil force try to separate these individuals who are very much in love. I think that’s gonna make for a very different way of looking at this story.”

“That thriller spy movie aspect of it is how I see Mission Impossible films. It’s a fine thrilling piece of entertainment that takes us to a whole other place that we would never conceive of.”rnrnrnrn
