THE BEATLES FANS GATHER FOR BEATLESFEST
Beatlesfest, aka The Fest, took place earlier this month on October 10, 11, and 12, and although the two remaining members of The Beatles, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney were no shows, the fest did have many treats for fans of the group. The event featured several members of McCartney’s post Beatles band, Wings, including Denny Laine, Laurence Juber and Denny Seiwell, Mark Rivera who works in Ringo’s All-Star Band, and Joey Molland of Badfinger, who was signed to the Beatles’ Apple Records.
Denny Laine talked about how many Beatlesfests he’s attended and what he likes about them.
Mark Rivera talked about playing Beatlesfest with Hal Blaine.
Nancy Lee Andrews was once engaged to Ringo Starr and was at the fest promoting and selling her book of photos of the Beatles drummer. She talked about what amazed her about the festival.
Beatlesfest is celebrating 50 years of the The Beatles, and it returns to New York City on March 20, 2015. This year’s fest also featured Peter Asher, Mark Hudson, and Beatles opener Billy J. Kramer, who was managed by Beatles manager Brian Epstien and recorded several songs by the Beatles dynamic songwriting duo of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
