TERRY BOZZIO REPLACES MISSING PERSONS FOR KORN
Korn drummer David Silveria was missing, and the shoes have been filled by Missing Persons and Zappa drummer Terry Bozzio. |
Former Frank Zappa drummer and Missing Persons founder Terry Bozzio was recruited for the drum position in Korn now that David Silveria has parted with the band. |
Bozzio, who’s from a different musical era and style, talked about how he ended up in Korn. |
“I worked with Jonathan on the Queen Of The Damned soundtrack, and we hit it off. His drummer David feels like he needs to take a break for a while. He’s been at it ten years, so he’s gonna kick back and I’m going to play with Korn, which is really exciting and lots of fun.” |
He also talked about where the band is at with the recording and plans for the 2007 album and tour. |
“Yeah, we’ve been working for two-and-a-half weeks now. I just finished the last two days pretty much eight hours a day overdubbing on some stuff they did with The Matrix and we had written about six to eight tunes together. We’ll re-record those and we’re start working in February with Atticus Ross producing. So right up until the record is supposed to come out in March. I’ll be busy doing that until then. And then we’ll tour Europe first in the beginning of the summer and then Family Values tour of the ‘States in late summer.” |
Meanwhile, Korn will unveil an Unplugged album, with covers of tunes by The Cure and Radiohead. It also features appearances by Evanescence’s Amy Lee and cure mastermind Robert Smith himself. |
