TENACIOUS D, FOO FIGHTERS KATRINA BENEFIT SAVED BY SILVERMAN?
Sarah Silverman was one of the comedians on hand at a Katrina benefit last Thursday (September 22) at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. The all-star concert also featured Foo Fighters, Josh Homme’s Eagles Of Death Metal, and Fiona Apple amonng others. The headliner was concert organizer Jack Black, who fronts his comedy-music hybrid band Tenacious D. |
The musicians and commedians performed until late in the night and it culminated in an all-star jam at the end, which Silverman said was probably one of the highlights of her life. |
“We did a Katrina benefit at the Wiltern and it was… I got to be on it. It was Fiona Apple, Bob and David from Mr. Show, Foo Fighters, Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age and Tenacious D and Dave Grohl. It was just the greatest night ever and then at the end we took a bow and Jack was like, ‘Let’s Jam!!’ And then Dave Grohl got on the drums and he threw me a tambourine, and I really played it, like, I think I was good at it, like a natural. I really tried anyway. And we just made up a song and Jack would come around and we’d sing, it was just really, whatever. It was awesome.” |
If Silverman looks familiar, she should be. She played the pestering girlfriend of Jack Black in the movie School Of Rock. |
