Rapper Talib Kweli will release a new album, Ear Drum, this winter. The album will feature guest spots by Jean Grae, Norah Jones, Strong Arm Steady, UGK, and Kanye West and production by Hi-Tek and Kwame. The first single and video from the album is “Listen” which was produced by Kwame. |
In addition to being a solo artist, Kweli is one-half of Reflection Eternal with Hi-Tek and one-half of Black Star with Mos Def. The rapper recently provided an update on the status of Black Star. He said, |
“Um I don’t miss nothing about Black Star days because Black Star days are still in effect. You know it’s not like Black Star is some old school group from back in the days. Like I see Mos Def all the time. We always do songs. We always do shows. We’re creating new memories and new exciting things as far as Black Star. It’s more of a live experience. Even though we don’t have another album out, Black Star still exist.” |
Black Star released their self-titled debut in 1998. Reflection Eternal released their gold-certified debut in 2000. Kweli, who is currently featured on Hi-Tek’s second solo offering, Hi-Tecknology 2, will be heading to Japan next month for several tour dates.rn |
