TAKING BACK SUNDAY TAKES BACK BAMBOOZLE
Taking Back Sunday is one of the headliners at the Bamboozle fest on Sunday, May 3, and they talk about a hometown show. |
Taking Back Sunday is on a promo tour of the Northeast U.S. in support of their forthcoming album New Again, but the gem of their run was an appearance on Sunday, May 3, at the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey. The show featured sets by Sum 41, No Doubt, Fall Out Boy, and We The Kings, just to name a few. |
We asked Taking Back Sunday’s vocalist Adam Lazzara about the approach to Bamboozle and playing their new material. |
“There’s…Bamboozle will be a lot of fun because it will be a whole lot of people, and we’ll have an opportunity to play a few of the new tunes for the audience. And being able to play those songs for a large audience is a lot of fun. We played Reading and Leeds over in the UK and we played some of the new songs, and they went over good there so I’m excited to see how it goes over in (New) Jersey.” |
Matt Rubano added: |
“It’s also been a long time since we’ve played a New York/New Jersey area show. I think the last time we did anything like that was Madison Square Garden a year ago to the week, almost to the day of Bamboozle, so it will be really nice to play for the expanded hometown crowed again.” |
Bamboozle was spread over two days with a special opening set, a third day, called Hoodwink, with a gimmicky theme of covers. New Found Glory played a set of Green Day, Sum 41 played a set of Metallica, and We The Kings played a set of Jimmy Eat World, among other “abominations” as dubbed by fans. |
