Atlanta-based rapper T.I. won his first two Grammy Awards on Sunday night, February 11th, at the Grammy Awards. The rapper won best rap solo performance for “What You Know,” and best rap /sung collaboration for “My Love” with Justin Timberlake. T.I. shared that he was pleased with winning two but he was also looking for a win in the best rap album category. He said, |
T.I. is working on a new album, T.I. Versus TIP, which he plans to release in July. |
“How does it feel to win two? Not as good as it would have felt to win three. But I mean I mean like I’m appreciative man this is the upper echelon of entertainment man. This is definielty where you are acknowledged and honored by the best in the business. And you know like ten years ago I’d have never expected to be here. So next year I’m just making my work harder. I got to get atleast three next year.” |
The rapper also recently completed work on his second major film, American Gangster. The film also stars Denzel Washington, Russel Crowe, RZA, and Common. It’s expected to hit theaters later this year. |
T.I. made his big screen debut in ATL last year and won rave reviews for his performance as a teenage rollerskater growing up in the lower income southside of Atlanta. |
