SWITCHFOOT RELEASES ‘OH GRAVITY’
In a unique move, Switchfoot has positioned their new album, Oh Gravity, for release today, just in time for bad Christmas music exchanges. |
Switchfoot will release their new album titled, Oh! Gravity, today, December 26, and it’s a bizarre date because most of the record industry is off for the holidays. The album comes one day after Christmas and part of the strategy of the release date might be that kids may return unwanted CDs for the new rnSwitchfoot disc. |
The timing is also good for the band because they make no bones about their spiritual nature. While they are in the Christmas spirit, they told us in an interview conducted a few years back that they’re all about the songs. |
“Yeah, I think it all comes back around to the songs, and that’s something that’s brought us through a lot. We’ve really believed in these songs, and we’re passsionate about them. Because if — the production and all these things you put on top — if the song is not underneath there somewhere, then you might as well not record it.” |
Switchfoot’s Oh! Gravity is actually the band’s sixth full-length album. Their big release was 2003’s The Beautiful Letdown, which featured “Meant To Live” and “Dare You To Move.” |
