Susan Sarandon plays the evil Queen in Enchanted.

Susan Sarandon plays the evil Queen Narissa in Enchanted who weaves her black magic on her son Prince Edward’s betrothed, sending her out of fantasy land and into Manhattan where she finds they don’t operate on happily ever after there.

Susan says it’s a great date movie to see over the Thanksgiving holiday.

“Enchanted is very interesting because I think it’s very romantic in a modern way. It utilizes all of these stock, kind of classic iconic Disney images. What makes it funny is they’re brought into the present. It’s kind of a fun date movie because it pokes fun at itself so guys don’t feel embarrassed for liking it and it’s really a fun movie to take your kids to.”

Susan is almost unrecognizable in the Queen’s over the top costume which featured a fake nose and teeth. The costume team had to dress her on a slant board to put on each different piece which included a winged collar, bodice and headdress that had to be sewn on.

“It’s always fun to be bad, so bad. And it was great to really transform that much. I’ve never done anything where I’ve been really unrecognizable so that was really great and we all grew up on the Disney cartoons and actually try to be one of those iconic women. I’m just hoping I get on a lunch box.”

Susan actually snagged a nose to take home with her just in case the lunch box doesn’t pan out. Next she’s playing an alcoholic, chain smoking grandmother in The Lovely Bones.
