SUPERNOVA VS. SUPERGROUP, BIOHAZARD BASSIST SIDES WITH…
(VIDEO) Now with Rock and Roll all the rage for reality shows, one question remains Supernova or Supergroup? One band member has his choice… |
With rock and roll reality shows being all the rage, one question barks at fans of heavy rock, Supergroup or Supernova? Supergroup was the VH1 show that showed fans an inside view of the forming of an all-star band. The group featured ex-Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Jason Bonham, Biohazard bassist Evan Seinfeld and classic rock axeman extraordinaire, Ted Nugent. Supergroup was Tommy Lee of Motley Crue, Jason Newsted formerly of Metallica, Gilby Clarke formerly of Guns N’ Roses, on a quest to find the singer of their new side project, Supergroup. |
We recently caught up with Seinfeld who was at the Hard Rock Cafe’s 35th anniversary Ambassadors of Rock show — featuring Motley Crue — and he said that there’s no contest which one was the better show. |
“No contest. Our show reality that show was like a rock themed Survivor. Oh,’vote me off.’ You know? I hate shows like that. It seemed kind of contrived. Like, Jason [Newsted], what are you doing, man?! What are you doing? We love ya bro? Who won?” |
We also talked to Seinfeld about the show promo-ing the fight between him and Bach for the whole series. |
“Oh, come on. Isn’t that good TV? Give a litle smack and it’s a little TV. It’s embarassing for me and Sebastian becuase he was drunk and I was falling on the floor, you know what I mean? And then people outside were like, ‘Yeah, kick Sebastian’s ass,’ Sebastian this, Sebastian that. Sebastian, you’re my brother. I love you, man. He’s my friend. Sometimes friends roll around on the floor and get back up. The point is we kissed and hugged and made up.” |
We also asked him if he knew Ted Nugent wouldn’t join the band beyond the life of the show. |
“No, I didn’t. I actually thought Ted was looking for a chance to jump into a young audience, you know what I mean? I was actually surprised. He’s so busy. He’s into doing his own thing. Ted Nugent is into being Ted Nugent. He didn’t want to be the guitar player in Damnocracy, and I can’t blame him for it. It’s his choice to do what he wants, you know what I mean?” |
Seinfeld is still not in Biohazard mode. He says he has another project lined up, and that he’s always open to working with his supergroup, which they named Damnocracy, should Ted Nugent ever decide to participate in the band. |
