Stone Sour have officially finished recording their second album, ‘Come Whatever May’ and the band recorded the album at the Foo Fighters private LA studio, Studio 606. The band also used the Foos longtime producer and engineer Nick Raskulinecz. Corey Taylor and Jim Root of Slipknot and Stone Sour respectively, sat down to discuss why they choose Studio 606, and it may not be for the reason you’re thinking of. |
So did Grohl stopped by to see how the sessions were going? |
“Actually I was reading a Rolling Stone or some magazine and I saw a picture of Nick in the control room of this studio. In the picture I saw I could see the Nieve board in the background and I think there was a comment made that you could smoke in the control room at this studio.” Corey Taylor interjected with “What, yeah!” Root went on to add “It started out as a joke but the more we started talking about it the more we started talking to other producers and it just seemed to make sense.” |
Stone Sour, with the recording process completed have already begun mixing the album with Randy Staub (Metallica, Hatebreed.) With songs like “30/30-150,” to “Zzyzx Road,” it’s much more diverse and mature than the first record. Stone Sour will kick off their tour in support of ‘Come Whatever May’ June 2nd in Germany playing many European summer fesitval dates extending until July 2nd in the Netherlands. Look for US dates to be announced soon.rn |
“Yeah he’s been here a few times. He likes to come down in the mornings and just hang out before we get here. He’ll houver around and just beat it. He’s goofy as hell, it’s awesome.” |
