Stone Sour have enjoyed tremendous success from their latest album, the critically acclaimed ‘Come What(ever) May and the band has receieved a 2007 Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for their song ’30/30-150.’ Stone Sour were previously nominated for a Grammy Award for the songs ‘Get Inside’ and ‘Inhale’, which were off the debut album. Although the band hasn’t enjoyed Grammy success just yet, it’s possible this could finally be there year for Stone Sour to take home the prestigious award. ‘Come What(ever) May’, which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard Rock chart showcases the talents of Corey Taylor and Jim Root both respectively of Slipknot. |
We caught up with vocalist Corey Taylor to get some insite on the song ’30/30-150′ and how important it is to remeber who you are. |
“That song is basically about remembering who I was when I decided to do this and where I was when I decided to do this and having nothing change as far as from the point to this point sitting here in front of you. It’s basically an anthem remembering who you are because in this business it’s so easy to forget that. It’s so easy to become somebody else and I almost went through that. This was the reestablishment of that. It’s so far back for me that’s it’s pretty heavy, but I have the same passion about it now when I did when I was twelve and I didn’t have this.” |
Stone Sour will be going up against Ministry, Slayer, Mastadon and Lamb of God for Best Metal Performance. Stone Sour are currently on the Music as a Weapon Tour with Disturbed, Flyleaf and Nonpoint. It was also announced recently that the band will be performing with Evanescence on a brief Canadian Tour which kicks off January 5th in Montreal and extending until January 18th in Vancouver. You can also find Stone Sour on the upcoming Family Values CD/DVD featuring performances from last summers tour with Korn, The Deftones and Dir En Grey. Look for the band to announce more tour dates for 2007 as the band continues to tour in support of ‘Come What(ever) May.’ |
