STONE SOUR EXCITED FOR COME WHAT(ever) MAY BILLBOARD DEBUT
Stone Sour, the ‘other’ band of Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor, has found their new album Come What(ever) May debuting at Number 4 on the Billboard 200. Keyw… |
Stone Sour, who are currently getting rave reviews for their energetic live performances on The Family Values Tour, scored a top five debut on the Billboard 200 chart for an amazing first week sales for their second album, ‘Come What(ever) May.’ By scanning over 80,000 in the first week alone ‘Come What(ever) May’ has landed at number 4 on the Billboard Chart. |
We caught up with Corey Taylor, Stone Sour and Slipknot’s lead vocalist, to discuss the bands thoughts on their debut and it was interesting to find out, Taylor know’s it’s not about the first week, but having longevity as a band. |
“We were pretty excited about the first week, but in our minds it was the first step of many. In this business everybody makes such a big deal about the first week and what they should be making a huge deal about is the 32nd week. That’s the name of the game, longevity. In a business where that used to be the way it was it’s a lost commodity. So our whole plan is just to keep this going. The first week was great, but what about the tenth week, what about the twentieth week? So, we just want to keep this going.” |
Stone Sour will be performing on Family Values Tour with Korn, The Deftones, Fly Leaf and Dir En Grey until September 22nd in Virginia. The tour has been setting record numbers for sales by featuring some of Metals hottest bands. Look for Stone Sour to continue to tour in support of ‘Come What(ever) May’ and both guitarist James Root and vocalist Corey take another year or so on hiatus from their respective ‘Day Jobs’ with Slipknot! |
