STEVE CARELL REWRITES STORY OF NOAH’S ARK
Steve Carell has different ideas about the animals getting onto Noah’s Ark. |
Preening poser newscaster Evan Baxter reprised by Steve Carell has just been elected to Congress in Evan Almighty when Morgan Freeman as God comes to him and asks him to build an ark. |
As the story of Noah’s Ark goes the animals come in twos. However if left up to Steve he’d have a much better plan for rounding up the animals but building an ark is another story. |
“You know what, I would separate them not by two by two like the giraffes and the elephants, probably by height. I would do it that way. I’d have the giraffes first and then I would have the elephants. I have no idea. I don’t know how I would separate them but I do know in terms of building an ark, it would take me I think about 125 years to build because I’m not a very handy guy. So to build what you see in the movie would probably take that long. It would be many generations of Carells to finish that.” |
Steve had to form a close relationship with the animals but says there were some he didn’t get along with. |
“There were all kinds of crazy because they are indeed wild animals so you can’t push them too far. The giraffes were really sweet. I have to say when you’re this close to a giraffe, they’re big eyes, they’re really sweet, kind looking animals. They have a lot of soul to their faces. I like the elephants, very intelligent. The birds were not necessarily my favorites. I can’t say I’m a bird person. We sort of bonded over a few days with them sitting and pooping on me. You get close to an animal when you share something like that.” |
The lumber that was used in the film to build the ark including windows and shutters was donated to Habitat for Humanity. |
