STEVE CARELL INTERESTED IN REAL LIFE
Steve Carell was interested in Dan In Real Life because it’s just that, about what happens in real life. |
Steve Carell stars as Dan Burns, a columnist for a New Jersey newspaper who finds himself seeking advice about relationships when he becomes a widower with three kids in Dan In Real Life. |
Steve describes what his character Dan expects from real life. |
“And it’s essentially an advice column. It talks about families and kids and how to raise children. And he’s a widower. He has three youngish daughters ages, I guess they’re 10, 15, and 17. And he’s been a widower for about four years and has not found love again. And hopefully through the course of this movie he will.” |
Dan thinks he’s met the woman of his dreams in Juliette Binoche until his brother brings her home to meet the family. |
“I thought it was a sweet story but there was more to it than just being sweet and sappy. It resonated on a sort of level that he was a real guy and all of the characters within the movie seemed true to life in a sense. They seemed like they could actually be living breathing people which is good indication of what the movie itself might turn out to be like. I’m hoping that’s the way it reads.” |
Dan In Real Life which also stars Dane Cook as Dan’s brother, Frasier’s John Mahoney as his father and Dianne Wiest as his mother opens Friday, October 26th in theaters. |
