(VIDEO)Steve Buscemi voices Mr. Nebbercracker, the owner of the Monster House |
Steve Buscemi is the voice of Mr. Nebbercracker, the sole inhabitant and owner of the Monster House which seemingly comes to life. This is Steve’s second foray into animation and monsters, his first as the voice of Randall Boggs in Monster’s Inc. He talks about why he wanted to visit this Monster House. |
When three of the neighborhood teens start to snoop around this spooky looking house, strange things happen like toys disappearing from the front lawn. Steve says Nebbercracker is a softy underneath his mean exterior. |
“It just seemed like a great adventure and yet sort of simple. It just takes place in this suburban neighborhood. It’s sort of a spin on the haunted house story.” |
Like Polar Express, Monster House was shot with digital animation based on motion capture of the actors. You can visit Monster House in theaters July 21.rn |
“He’s a guy, say a veteran and really underneath it a really sweet guy but to these kids he’s a terror. They fear him. If they get close to his house he just goes berserk and starts yelling and threatening. But he’s really trying to protect them from this house that he lives in.” |
