STEPHEN MARLEY RELEASES SOLO DEBUT

Former Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers group member Stephen Marley released his debut album, Mind Control, last week. The Grammy Award winner released the set’s first single, “Traffic Jam” featuring Damian Marley, last month and the song has been one of the most added records at urban radio.

Mind Control features guest appearances by Mos Def, Julian Marley, Damian Marley, Mr. Cheeks, Illestr Eight, Ben Harper, and Maya Azucena.

“They reached out to me not because a label tore down their door. Not because a manager, they owed somebody a favor, they like sort me out because somebody was telling them about my music and they were feeling it. So that means a lot to me, it means….it gives me encouragement.”

Azucena explained that her collaborations with other artists occur organically and that it is usually because the other artist has a special appreciation for her music. The singer said,
