STAIND SAYS INDUSTRY WOES COULD BE GOOD FOR FANS
Staind was one of the first to give more to fans in their records, and their latest release, Chapter V, is also hitting stores as a dual disc featuring behind the scenes footage, videos and other extras on November 15. The band feels that the extra effort is needed to retain fans and get new ones in a struggling record business. |
Upon release of their most recent disc, Chapter V, the band did a run of meet-and-greets with fans at Best Buy stores to play, shake hands with fans, and sign copies of the album. Guitarist Mike Mushok says events like the meet-and-greets are necessary in this day and age. |
“And I mean I think there’s things like that, that’s kind of like, ‘Hey, hang on here’s a CD and we’re going to do more to keep the fans that we have and hopefully gain some more. I’d like to think that hopefully a good thing, like I said, that’s come out of it is that, at least for us, is that we’re trying I to give back to fans of the band.” |
Staind was one of the first to give more to fans in their records as their previous record, 14 Shades Of Grey, was released as a dual disc. Staind is currently headlining venues across the U.S. as part of its “Fall Brawl.” |
