STAIND CANCELS EUROPEAN TOUR
Staind has cancelled their European tour, which was to start September 19 in Dublin, Ireland in order to do further promotional appearances in their home of the United States. The band’s album is stronger than expected here in the States debuting at Number One. |
The band didn’t enjoy the same success in Europe, and the band feels that the company turmoil overseas is to blame. Guitarist Mike Mushok admitted that since they broke through worldwide with their smash, Break The Cycle, the band has failed to recapture their former glory across the pond. |
“I mean it hurt us and I feel that we’re not necessarily starting over in Europe but it’s definitely not where it was, and I think that the ball was dropped on the last record over there. But not being there it’s really hard to not… see that and you kind of take people’s word for things, and it’s not a smart thing to do. You’ve got to make sure that it’s being taken care of. So we’re trying to remedy that. And it’s like anywhere, you need to go and play. You just need to go over there and start playing and hopefully we’ll get back to where it was.” |
An official statement by the band read: “We love touring overseas and are incredibly thankful to our European fans. Unfortunately at this time, circumstances prevent us from coming over to perform live. We apologize for this inconvenience to our fans and look forward to seeing everyone in the future.” |
Staind, currently opening for 3 Doors Down, are expected to announce details of a headlining tour shortly. |
