STAIND BECOMES AMBASSADOR OF ROCK TO SAVE MUSIC
Staind hit the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City for the Ambassadors Of Rock concert series to benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. |
Staind played the Hard Rock in New York City on Tuesday, August 19, for the Ambassadors Of Rock concert to benefit Save The Music, which gives assistance to school music programs. |
Staind talked about the event. |
[Aaron Lewis] “I believe they approached us.”[Mike Mushok] “Yeah, they asked us to play the show, and VH1 jumped in and Save The Music. A donation is going to be made to a school in the Bronx. It’s great to be able to help out the arts and to get some kids involved in music. We all started very young, and if somebody else can benefit from that, it would be great.” |
Vocalist Aaron Lewis also said his life would be very different if it wasn’t for music in school. |
“You know, I was in chorus all through high school, and my music teacher in high school is still one of my heroes. A couple of years ago I did an acoustic show in my high school and sold out the auditorium and charged 100 dollars a ticket and gave it all to my music program. So, to be a part of this is perfect.” |
Staind just released their new album The Illusion of progress, which is competing with new releases from 3OH!3, Shwayze, and the Jonas Brothers. |
