SPIDERMAN SUITS UP FOR THREE

Spider-Man Tobey Maguire gives us the skinny behind the change in Spidey.

Everything seems to be going well for Spiderman. He’s become a New York star, he’s hot and heavy with his old flame Mary Jane, and he’s finally coming into his own until a darkness sets in transforming Peter Parker as well.

His Spiderman suit turns jet black bringing out Spidey and Parker’s dark side. Tobey Maguire talks about how Peter handles the vengeful changes in his personality.

“We want to make sure Peter is not helpless in this situation. Peter is making the choices to wear the suit and allow it to influence his actions. So he’s not helpless, he’s not a victim. He’s choosing these things even if his actions or his behavior get away from him a little bit. He’s still responsible for his actions.”

Peter must overcome his personal demons and at the same time defeat Sandman played by Thomas Haden Church.

“I’ve been waiting for Sandman to be a villain in one of these movies and I’m so excited to be going up against Sandman. You know I mean I think Sandman’s qualities are very difficult to deal with you know in that he can shape shift basically using sand in any form.”

Spiderman 3 shot on location in New York is the official opening film of the Tribeca Film Festival. It opens Friday in theaters nationwide.
