SPIDER-MAN 3 SPINS WORLWIDE BOX OFFICE RECORD
Spider-Man 3 breaks box office records domestically and abroad. |
Spider-Man 3 has spun a new box office record in its first opening day on Friday taking in $59 million breaking Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest $55.8 million on it’s first day last summer. And the web has spread worldwide taking in $104 million overseas on Friday. |
James Franco who plays Peter Parker’s best pal Harry Osborn is not surprised by the film’s success because he says audiences share a common bond with Parker. |
“Peter Parker is an every man and every young person can relate to Peter Parker or want to be Peter Parker because he’s really a genuine good guy. And it’s the ultimate fantasy to be that guy and then all of a sudden be given these amazing powers. But the issues that Peter is dealing with are for the most part are issues that everyone deals with so he’s extremely relatable and Spider-Man is pretty much the coolest comic book character.” |
The Spider-Man franchise reclaimed the record from Dead Man’s Chest $135.6 million with it’s three-day opening taking in $148 million over the weekend. |
