SOUL TRAIN AWARDS LACK STAR POWER
The 21st Annual Soul Train Awards were held in Los Angeles on Saturday night, March 10th. The show was hosted by Omarion and Letoya Luckett and featured performances by Jennifer Hudson, Robin Thicke, and Omarion. Unfortunately most of the big winners including Beyonce, Jay-Z, Jamie Foxx, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Gnarls Barkley, and Mary J. Blige were no shows. |
Jermaine Dupri was in the house to receive his outstanding career achievement award as was Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds who received the outstanding career achievement award for songwriting. Actor and singer Jennifer Hudson was presented with the entertainer of the year award. |
“I think this mic to big. We don’t do the paper no more. We got the lil Sidekick. First I want to thank God for sending me down this path. Then I want to thank Soul Train for inspiring me. For giving us Black people this TV show. I mean ya’ll got to give it up for Soul Train man. I want to thank Don Cornelius for even you know presenting me with this award because I sat in this audience for so long, sat at home, and always said I wish I could get that Quincy Jones Award and I’m here, so thank you.” |
