SNOOP DOGG WORKING ON NEW ALBUM

(VIDEO) Snoop Dogg begins work on eighth solo album…..

Rapper and actor Snoop Dogg is working on his eighth solo album, which is called Blue Carpet Treatment. The project will include guest appearances by Warren G, R. Kelly, Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Will.I.Am, James Ingram, Ne-Yo, Jermaine Dupri, Janet Jackson, Akon, and Stevie Wonder. In addition, Snoop is also working on an animated film which is also titled Blue Carpet Treatment and a new action movie called A Woman’s Touch.

Next week Snoop’s Doggystyle Records will release the new Dogg Pound album Cali Iz Active on Tuesday (June 27th).The album features guest appearances byB-Real, Busta Rhymes, David Banner, and Paul Wall. Daz Dilinger explained why Snoop and the group decided to do a one album independent deal with Koch Records. He said,

“It was a one album deal, you know what I’m sayin’? We could get a gang of money then go get a record deal after we show them that we can do this on our own. And not a person going in and saying, ‘Alright we’ll give you two hundred thousand for the album.’ Stuff like that, you know what I’m sayin’? We just building our weight up cause I’ve been doing independent. For me to get my deal with Jermaine, you know we negotiated some big deals, you know what I’m sayin’? As far as like me pushing my own records and pressing my own records and doing what a major label doing already. The only thing a major label is doing is pushing the name. And that’s already been pushed for thirteen years, you know what I’m sayin’? So we just a going for the big cheese.”

Snoop Dogg’s last release was 2004’s R&G: (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece. The album featured the hit, “Drop It Like It’s Hot” featuring Pharrell Williams.
