Rapper Snoop Dogg, who is scheduled to perform at the 28th Annual Erotic Exotic Ball this weekend in San Francisco, got some bad news on Wednesday, October 24th. The office of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom informed the rapper and Exotic Erotic Ball founder Perry Mann that they would not be receiving proclamations as previously announced. |
The Mayor’s office was forced to withdraw the proclamations due to stricter rules on the issuing process, after Mayor Newsom proclaimed February 23rd “Colt Studio Day,” in honor of the 40th anniversary of a local gay porno studio. |
“I mean I just make good music man. I make music for everybody. My music is not based on where you from, despite I’m from the west coast. I’m the king of the west coast and everybody knows I represent it thoroughly. But I always say you can spell the west without the e.s. So that takes care of everybody.” |
A representative of Mayor’s office explained, “In the wake of the Colt Studios controversy, procedures were put in place to prevent this from becoming a chronic problem. In this case, the procedures worked and there was no proclamation issued.” |
Snoop Dogg took the retracted proclamation in style and he was still scheduled to headline the 28th Annual Erotic Exotic Ball. The rapper explained why his music is so universal. He said, |
