SLY STALLONE ITALIAN STALLION RIDES AGAIN

At 60 years old Sylvester Stallone is back in the ring playing Rocky Balboa.

It was a pretty common decision around the board that Rocky Balboa, the famous Italian stallion would never step into the ring again. But creator and star Sylvester Stallone fought every naysayer convincing them that the core of Rocky is not about winning a boxing match but competing against his own desires to succeed.

Stallone says Rocky Balboa getting back into the game as well as himself at 60 years old is not unheard of.

“They believe that Sonny Liston was almost 50 years old when he fought Mohammed Ali but he lied about it. But the point is as it’s said in Rocky; they just want to prove that the last thing to age is the heart. And this is just a symbolic gesture that when you’re young at heart you’re basically in the game.”

Rocky Balboa is the sixth film of the Rocky series which Sly says has become an inspiration for all ages about never giving up.

“I never thought it would end up being a legacy but I guess what has come out of it is that it’s a pretty universal dream to try to rise up and take your best shot at life. You may not be totally successful but at least you’ve had the chance, you’ve had the opportunity. I think that’s the biggest frustration a lot of people have in their own lives, is never getting the shot.”

Stallone admits that getting older was the main ingredient for making Rocky Balboa. He told his wife Jennifer Flavin that if he never does anything else, Rocky is the way to go out.
