SLIPKNOTS COREY TAYLOR SPEAKS OUT ABOUT BUSH ADMINISTRATION
Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor speaks his mind on the last several years of The Bush Administraion and their policies. |
As the Democrats look to take control of Congress in 2007 and George Bush is once again pondering an increased US military presence in Iraq, the American public once again must weigh the repercussions of Bush and his Administration. Stone Sour and Slipknot lead vocalist Corey Taylor at times writes openly about politics in his songs. On Stone Sour’s latest album Come What(ever) May, Taylor labels President Bush a false prophet and a coward and goes on to say we’re more in danger then before Bush took power. |
We caught up with Slipknot and Stone Sour lead vocalist Corey Taylor to talk about his views on George W Bush and the past six years of his administration. |
“You know what, in retrospect it’s not even Bush. Bush is just a talking head. He’s the dufus that they put out there to kind of draw peoples attention away. The real enemy is his cabinet. Pretty much everybody in his administration is liars, cheats, all they care about is the upper 1 percent, all they care about is lining their own pockets. Basically Bush is running this country the way he ran the Texas Rangers. Let’s put it that way, into the ground.” |
Although Taylor admits he is very passionate about politics he makes sure to do his research so he gets his facts straight. |
“It’s something that I dabble about. When I talk about politics it’s much more passionate, you know. When I start to think like that I get really emotional and I lose a lot of the facts. But it’s because I know what I’ve read and that’s why I get so passionate about it. So, when I write about stuff like that I don’t tend to focus on any one thing. I tend to focus on the overall and what’s going on. If anybody says that W is a good president they’re a Fox News cronie that can’t figure it out.” |
Stone Sour have recently been nominated for a 2007 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance by a band for their single ’30/30-150.’ Stone Sour have started off 2007 with a run of dates with Evanescene in Canada before the band tours Europe for February and March. |
