SLIPKNOT SAYS SOLO PROJECTS STONE SOUR, MURDERDOLLS BROUGHT LIFE TO HOPE
Slipknot says that some of the members of the band got a big lift from the solo projects they were working on to bring life to All Hope Is Gone. |
Slipknot’s new album All Hope Is Gone is bonafide Number One in most countries, and it was the much anticipated follow-up to 2005’s Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). The band reunited after quite a bit of time away and members doing their own projects. Corey Taylor and Jim Root concentrated on Stone Sour, and Joey Jordison, whose side band is Murderdolls, took on the drum duties for Korn among other things. |
We asked percussionist Chris which members came back the most reinvigorated from their outside Slipknot experience. |
“I think everybody that has done one. It’s good for those guys to get away and create with other people and play and write and record and produce so when they come back they’re excited about Slipknot more, like all the time. They realize, ‘OK this is Slipknot, and this is what I do.’ So once everybody gets back together it’s always real exciting.” |
After headlining the Mayhem Festival, Slipknot are taking September off before starting a world tour next month. Their new single is “Psychosocial.” |
