SLIPKNOT ON THE SAME PAGE AT HOME?
Slipknot’s All Hope Is Gone was recorded close to home in Iowa, which was both a good thing and a bad thing for the band. |
Slipknot are enjoying success with their new album, All Hope Is Gone, and it’s the first time the band has recorded in their home state of Iowa. The band has had their share of producers and recording situations, and the decision to be close to home for the record was appreciated by some more than others. |
We asked percussionist Chris about keeping the recording close to home. |
“It was good and bad. I mean it was nice to be able to go home every night, but sometimes it’s just nice to get away from home and do just our thing as Slipknot. We keep everything pretty closed in so it wasn’t like it was a massive party at the studio every night where friends from home were coming out. I didn’t even bring any of my friends out to the studio. That’s just the way I do it. We like to keep everything in house.” |
Slipknot is currently taking a break for September. They embark on a world tour starting in October. The band continues to have international success. They were narrowly beaten for the top slot in the U.K. by The Verve, and they topped the chart in Australia with All Hope Is Gone. |
