Slipknot’s Joey Jordison is one of the all-star members of Roadrunner United: The All-Star Sessions, which is set to hit stores on Tuesday. The album is a collection of fresh songs written from four team captains; Jordison, Dino Cazares (ex-Fear Factory), Robert Flynn (Machine Head), and Matt Heafy of Trivium. |
Each of the members were in charge of writing songs with members from the label’s illustrious 25 year roster of bands from modern day to bands like Annhilator and Type O Negative. The unmasked Slipknot drummer talkes about working with such a stellar line-up of hard rock, metal and hardcore musicians. |
“Basically it was a chance to work with a bunch of killer musicians that I’ve been influenced by growing up through a lot of my old bands and everything. And I tried to write in a bunch of different styles that I’ve never written before and and and it was a real challenge and I really had a lot of killer memories of what all these people had brought to my songs. it was just mindblowing. What everyone did was just amazing. I got to learn from a lot of killer people so…” |
Roadrunner United: The All-Star Sessions features 56 artists, 45 bands, and 19 tracks of fresh, brand new material. Asisde from it arriving in stores today, various members of the group plan on performing a special concert in December to perform songs off the album. Details are forthcoming. |
