SLIPKNOT HAS HOPE, CAN NOT MASTER MEMBERS
With the economy in shambles the band talked about the title of their album and the challenge of getting their large band in sync. |
Slipknot is still holding strong on the Billboard 200 album chart with All Hope Is Gone, and the title is appropriate considering the financial turmoil the country is in. Tightening credit means that loans are scarce from Student Loans to Car Loans to Mortgages. Also the country has been in flux for some time, and it’s affecting people’s lives. |
We asked Slipknot percussionist Chris if in fact all hope is gone. |
“Um, no. Not for me. I think all hope might be gone, but it’s time to reinvent the hope. I don’t know just whatever is going on in life. Everything can seem really drab and rainy all the time, but there’s stuff out there that’s still worth living for.” |
The band is preparing to go on the road later this month, and they’ll be hitting Israel for the first time in their careers. The band has almost double the size of a traditional band, and we asked Chris if they’ve mastered the art of being in such a large band. |
“I think that’s the beauty of it, that it’s never going to be mastered. It’s never pre-planned, you know what I mean? There’s certain things that we do, obviously because we’re playing a show and we play our instruments. Certain things you do can become repetitious, but still this band will never be mastered because you can always do whatever you want in this band.” |
Slipknot hits the road starting October 8 in Nagoya, Japan. The band then travels to New Zealand, Australia, and Europe the remainder of 2008.rn |
