In order to make Slipknot fresh Crahan came up with new masks for the band, and the same may happen on the next album cycle. Guitarist Mick Thomson recalled the change and talked about what is in store for his face for the future. |
“I don’t see myself changing it. I had my first one for two record cycles and this one only has one on it. I mean it’s… If you know who you are and you find who you are and you feel it, it’s right, I dont feel I need to change whatsoever. I think I pretty much nailed it with this one to be able to get across how I feel and how I am. I don’t really need too much of a modification I don’t think. I’m going to roll with this one for a few years.” |
Videos included on Voliminal are clips for “Duality,” “Vermillion,” “Before I Forget,” “The Nameless” and “Vermillion II,” which was never released. Thomson shared the story of how the band was sued for damage during their video shoot for “Duality.” |
“I didn’t read all the details, but I know that after being paid a handsome sum they weren’t very happy with what happened to the place. When I was there it felt to me within the parameters of what was acceptable and what was described. Just because we’re a crazy band doesn’t mean that we’re a bunch of a–holes and we’re completely disrespectul nor are the people that are professionals and make videos, typically. So… It was what it was and then it went away.” |
Slipknot has sold over five million records split among their three studio releases. The band took home their first Grammy Award earlier this year. |
