SILVERSTEIN WAIT TO GO BACK TO THEIR BEDROOM
(VIDEO) Silverstein, one of the bands many people looked forward to on Warped, are writing a new record. Find out where they write, and what they thought of the tour…here! |
Silverstein was one of the bands that fans were coming to see on this past Warped tour, and there seems to be a new indie movement in Modern Rock that many haven’t picked up on yet. The band released Discovering The Waterfront, and they’re still touring in support of the release. |
We caught up with vocalist Shane Told at Warped Tour late last month, and he said he was enjoying the tour. |
“Well the cool thing about this tour is that there’s such a mix of newer bands as well as a mix of older, veteran bands like… Growing up some of my favorite bands were NoFX and Less Than Jake, and now we’re super good friends with NoFx. It’s kind of weird, but it’s really cool. We’ve toured with Armor For Sleep Senses Fail, The Bled, The Sleeping, all kinds of bands, and seeing them everyday it’s been awesome.” |
Underoath is acutally returning to the road starting September 14 as part of Underoath’s Canadian tour. The band will follow that with a headlining trek with Aiden and He Is Legend Among others. Shane talked about the new underground indie movement that has flown mostly under the radar. |
“Well, it’s gotten bigger and bigger all the time. Our band has gotten bigger every month and I think eventually it’s going to explode and a lot of the bands are going to become a little more mainstream and then the new indie scene will start — just like what happened with grunge and some of the 90s punk rock bands and stuff. I think that’s just happening again. I think it’s just history repeating itself, which is great and I’m excited.” |
We asked Told if he gets a chance to write on the road, and he said that he’ll have to wait to get to the comfort of home to begin a new album. |
“We’ve been… Our last record came out about exactly a year ago. We’ve been on tour for a year, so after this (run of dates) we’re going to go and do…go home start writing some songs, jamming it out, and then we’ll hope to put out a new record next year.” |
Silverstein wraps up an exhausting year plus of touring on November 25 at Albany, New York’s Northern Lights. Silverstein has two other collections fans can check out, 2003’s When Broken Is Easily Fixed and the 2001 EP When The Shadows Beam. |
