SIENNA MILLER MISTRUSTS JOURNOS
Sienna Miller’s mistrust of journalists began with her first interview. |
The film Interview seemed like the perfect vehicle for Sienna Miller to get back at the tabloid press who have been having a field day with her since her unfortunate soap opera relationship with Jude Law. |
Playing a famous celebrity who is interviewed by Steve Buscemi she turns the meeting into something quite more than just a chat. Sienna recalls the first time she was interviewed which started the ball rolling with her mistrust of journalists. |
“I remember being very open. I tend to be quite open as a person so I get into trouble with journalists who take advantage of that quality. I invited someone back to my house for a cup of tea, this woman and then she sort of proceeded to write this article about the state of my apartment and how messy it was and sort of took advantage of that so that wasn’t a good starting point.” |
There is a symbiotic relationship between celebrities and journalists which Sienna recognizes. |
“It’s a very interesting dynamic that you have because obviously you’re sort of putting yourself up for judgment so you automatically a bit on the defense unless you trust the journalist. But it’s hard to find a journalist who you know wouldn’t, I’m trying not to swear, mess you over with the right scoop. So I personally don’t tend to trust journalists that much.” |
Interview is based on the Dutch film by the late Theo Van Gogh who was murdered in 2004, and directed by Steve Buscemi. |
