SHWAYZE GETS WARPED
Shwayze and partner Cisco Adler are currently touring on the Warped Tour with a record release around the corner and a TV show keeping them busy. |
Shwayze is currently bringing his brand of hip-hop, rock and pop to the stages of Warped this summer, and his self-titled album is set to drop on August 19. Shwayze is a west coast rapper with Cisco Adler, son of LA club mogul Lou Adler, lending his vocal, producing, and co-writing talents to the project. |
Shwayze and Adler sat down with us at a recent Warped Tour stop and talked about the good and bad of taking their music to the Warped masses. |
[Shwayze] “Well the best is playing the shows every day with the fans and all that because I’ve never played in a tour. So, I’ve never played every single day like this. I’ll play and then a month later we’ll play another show. For me that’s the best. The worst….” [Cisco] “The worst is the day we have to leave.” [Shwayze] “It exactly is, so there’s no bad things. Well said.” |
They also talk about who they’ve been able to buddy-up with on the tour. |
[Shwayze] “Oh yeah, we love the fact that it’s diverse. I think that’s why it makes sense that we’re here, you know what I mean? But we’ve been kickin’ it with 3OH!3, these other rappers that are from Denver, they’re classic, Katy Perry’s band. We’ve been kicking it with this English band called Beat Union.” [Cisco] “Beat Union, we’ve got Gym Class, Travis is down with us. He comes and checks us out. I think he’s going to drop a verse one day. We’ve been doing a cover with Katy Perry’s band. Their guitarist plays with us every day. I go sing with 3OH!3 every day. It’s crazy.” [Shwayze] “We love that. We love mingling with the bands.” [Cisco] “It’s reminiscent of back in the day when fools would just get up and jam with each other everywhere, or like their labels wouldn’t let them get on a record so they’d give themselves a fake name. Like, I’m Dick Charming when I sing with 3OH!3.” |
Shwayze and their “lifestyle” have been picked up by MTV with a show called Buzzin’, which airs at 10:30pm/9:30pm central time. Two songs getting airplay include “Buzzin'” and “Corona & Lime.”rn |
