SHINODA SONGS: FT MINOR OR LINKIN PARK?, BAND IS COOL WITH LABEL
Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park talked about the creation of his remixes “Castle Of Glass” and “Victimized” and what the influences were behind those songs for R… |
Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda is the rap vocalist for the band while Chester Bennington can be referred to as the singer. Shinoda’s wordplay can best be seen on the debut album by his sideband, Fort Minor. |
Shinoda’s The Rising Tied is his first collection of rap and hip-hop songs, but we recently asked the workaholic about what constitutes a Fort Minor song and what constitutes a Linkin Park song. |
“As far as coming up with songs for things like that, like I don’t…. When I come up with a song, it’s generally… I just work on the song and I make the song the best thing it can be. That’s kind of how the Ft. Minor songs started and that’s kind of what goes on in Linkin Park. At this point in the process when there are a lot of people asking me about production, I’ll just make a song until I think it sounds good, and then I’ll go, ‘Oh that sounds like Linkin Park, or it sounds like Fort Minor, or it sounds like so and so.'” |
Fort Minor played a handful of dates in November, and the band may not tour again due to the writing of the next Linkin Park album. Two songs have been getting positive response, “Petrified” and “Remember The Name.” |
