SHINEDOWN NOT COMPLACENT, 2003 ALBUM GOES PLATINUM
Shinedown is currently riding high on their smash single, “Save Me,” and they’re debating what will be the next release from the southern influenced Alt. rock band. The band has about three strong songs said singer Brent Smith, but they didn’t cut corners on any of them. |
The band’s 2003 release, Leave A Whisper, has recently been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and Smith said that they never want to shortchange their fans creatively. |
“You know what? It was funny because when we went in and did Us And Them, we really took the initiative to say, you know, we could probably take the three songs that we think would be the singles and write those and then we could do filler. That’s not the way this band works and that’s not the way we write songs. Every single song that we write is different, but we also are always trying to outdo what we’ve already done. We don’t believe in that whole thing of the top or ‘we’ve arrived.’ I think that whole thing is pretty weak to be honest with you.” |
Meanwhile, fans can catch a glimpse of Shinedown at the 2005 Video Game Awards on Spike TV on December 10. The band will be on the road, winding down December 17 at Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club. |
