SHE WANTS REVENGE GETS HELPING HAND FROM FRED DURST
(VIDEO) Although they sound nothing like Limp Bizkit, She Wants Revenge owes their career to one Fred Durst |
She Wants Revenge may be compared to Joy Division and mope-rock bands of their ilk, but they were actually signed by Fred Durst. The Limp Bizkit frontman also has a job of A&R for Interscope records and he signed She Wants Revenge after a close acquaintance brought them to his attention. |
Vocalist Justin Warfield said that Durst showed a lot of guts and showed him he was serious about championing She Wants Revenge. |
“As soon as the songs were done playing in the studio he phoned us and said, ‘Hey this is Fred Durst and I heard your music and I think it’s incredible and I want to sign you, like, as soon as the songs were done playing. He didn’t hesitate, and right there that spoke volumes to us because so much of the major label process would be a couple of guys in their mid thirties and forties with their arms crossed at a show looking to one another to see whether or not they’re supposed to like it, and judging by their peers. Or you go and sit at a desk and the other side of the desk is a guy who says, ‘These songs are amazing, now can you write four more and come back to me in six months.” |
Warfield recalled the first meeting he had with the Limp Bizkit frontman. |
She Wants Revenge is currently supporting their single “These Things,” and the video clip for the song features Shirley Manson. The band will finish their west coast dates this month, and then they’ll split July between Canada, the U.S. and Europe. |
