Shavo Odadjian, bassist for System Of A Down, has called on his friends in Guns N’ Roses and other bands to offer advice to musicians on urSession. |
Shavo Odadjian, bassist for System Of A Down, has created a musician friendly website called urSession, and he will have some of rock’s best give aspiring musicians on the site useful information about the industry. |
Odadjian said that on occasion some of these artists will have a one-on-one rapport with musicians in the hopes that they can help develop unknown talent. We asked him how hands on he’ll be with those on the site. |
“A lot. I’m running everything myself with Sway and Tech (Power 106 DJs) also being partners, and I have… A lot of my friends in the industry are involved. Wu-Tang boys, RZA, RZA is one of my boys. He’s going to have a major part of it. Sway and Tech have a part with the whole hip-hop thing. Lars from Metallica I’m bringing in as a group. Slash from Velvet [Revolver] and Guns [N’ Roses] is going to be highly involved. I’m going to get people who are just friends of mine, and they’re so into the idea and love the fact that it’s from an artist’s point of view.” |
He also said that the site is by musicians of any genre from hip-hop to rock, and it’s run by musicians for musicians. |
“It ain’t a corporation coming up with an idea for an artist. It’s actual artists saying, ‘Listen, I have got this idea, let’s get it done.’ So they’re very excited. They’re willing to help. So there’s going to be a suggestion area so if you want help, you want ideas, we’re going to give you ideas. We’re going to give you We’re going to give you help on how to improve your band, how to improve your… We’ve got a lot in mind.” |
urSession is testing its security features before it will launch later this summer. Stay tuned for launch details. Meanwhile, Shavo Odadjian will be working on new material with RZA called Achosen. |
